The Musashi-Kosugi Toastmasters Club held its English Speech Contest on February 8, 2025, as Meeting #495 at Kawasaki Shiminkan. A total of 32 attendees, including five guests—Division Director TM N, S san, S san, M san, and TM J —participated in the event. President TM K opened the meeting, handing over to Contest Chair TM Y, who facilitated a smooth and engaging contest.

Key roles were handled by TM O (Chief Judge), TM H and TM Y (Timers), TM I and TM O (Vote Counters), and TM T (SAA). TM P conducted contestant interviews, adding insight into their speech preparation and experiences.

Seven contestants delivered diverse and compelling speeches. TM S reflected on communication and work ethics from the Showa era. TM E’s “Please Come to My Office” tackled work-life balance struggles. TM F shared lessons from adapting his tennis playstyle after an injury. TM E opened with “Boys, be ambitious,” narrating his journey as a drummer and entrepreneur. TM S’s “The Last Day” addressed elderly care challenges. TM A entertained with a Rakugo-style retelling of the Battle of Okehazama. TM O’s “All I Need to Know, I Learned in a Restaurant” shared wisdom gained from working in a high-end steakhouse.

The event celebrated storytelling, resilience, and personal growth, marking another successful contest at Musashi-Kosugi Toastmasters Club.

2025年2月8日、第495回武蔵小杉トーストマスターズクラブ英語スピーチコンテストが川崎市民館で開催されました。32名が参加し、ゲストにはディビジョンディレクターのTM N、S さん、S さん、K さん、TM Jが加わりました。会長のTM Kが開会し、コンテストチェアのTM Yがスムーズな進行を担当しました。

役割は、TM O（審査委員長）、TM H・TM Y（タイマー）、TM I・TM O（投票カウンター）、TM T（SAA）が務めました。さらに、TM Pがスピーカーのインタビューを行い、スピーチ準備や経験について掘り下げました。

7名のコンテスタントが多彩なスピーチを披露しました。TM Sは昭和時代の仕事観と現代の管理職の姿勢について考察。TM Eの「Please Come to My Office」では、ワークライフバランスの難しさを描きました。TM Fは、負傷を経てテニスのプレースタイルを変えた経験から学んだ教訓を共有。TM Eは「Boys, be ambitious」の言葉を引用し、プロドラマーや起業での挑戦を語りました。TM Sの「The Last Day」は高齢の両親のケアについての深い考察でした。TM Aは、桶狭間の戦いを落語風に語り、観客を楽しませました。TM Oの「All I Need to Know, I Learned in a Restaurant」は、高級ステーキハウスでの経験から学んだ人間関係の洞察を語りました。
