Musashikosugi Toastmasters Club Meeting Report: #507 (August 9, 2025)
Hey everyone! It’s summer, and it’s time for a festival! 🎉
The theme of our August 9 meeting was “Yukata Meeting.” It's a special meeting we hold every year. Participants were welcome to wear yukata, jinbei, or any casual summer attire. Several members wore yukata, jinbei, and other styles, and the room was beautifully decorated with colorful bunting and Japanese lanterns, creating a lively summer festival atmosphere. 👘🏮
President TM K., elegantly dressed in jinbei, opened the meeting by sharing a personal story about helping his wife after she broke her arm. His ability to turn any situation into a positive one was truly inspiring. ✨
The Toastmaster of the Day was our energetic TM P., who wore an Indian-style casual kimono. He had prepared the gorgeous room setting to match the theme perfectly. The Word of the Day, chosen by TM H., was “Capture the Moment,” and many members successfully used it throughout the meeting. 🗣️
Our small role takers also did a great job supporting the meeting. TM S. was the Vote Counter, TM Y. was the Timer, TM H. was the Grammarian, and TM O. was the Ah-Counter. All of them delivered precise and concise reports at the end, demonstrating the principle that "brevity is the soul of wit." ⏱️
Table Topics Session
Past president TM K. led the Table Topics session with the simple but insightful theme of "company slogans." 💡

The session was filled with humor and laughter. 😂 Afterward, TM I. gave generous and encouraging evaluations to all the speakers. 👏
Prepared Speeches Session
We had a great lineup of speakers, from veteran members to newcomers. 🎤
TM O.: Delivered two impromptu speeches in a row, one about calming people in a disaster shelter and another about filling time during a presentation when a computer stops working.
TM N.: Gave an excellent Icebreaker speech, sharing her passion for the Yomiuri Giants and her love for her three cats.
TM S.: Spoke about conversations with his 90-year-old mother, focusing on using vocal variety.
TM T.: Shared her experience preparing a quiz competition and connected it to the theme of Toastmasters mentoring.
TM M.: Gave a speech about Mexican culture, highlighting the importance of knowing one’s own traditions and making everyone want to shout “¡Viva México!”
Evaluation Session
Club founder TM I. served as the General Evaluator, and experienced members provided constructive feedback. 📝
TM K. praised the effective link between TM O.’s two speeches.
TM T. praised TM N.’s strong debut.
TM E. encouraged TM S. to use even greater contrast with his vocal variety.
TM P. praised TM T.’s solid structure and suggested speaking without notes.
TM S. admitted he didn't understand some of the cultural references in TM M.’s speech but gave sincere feedback, showing that honesty is also valuable.
To conclude the meeting, TM I. acknowledged every role taker’s contributions and offered heartfelt comments.

第507回 武蔵小杉トーストマスターズクラブ例会報告（2025年8月9日）
皆さん、こんにちは！夏です！お祭りの季節です！🎉
8月9日の例会は、毎年恒例の「浴衣ミーティング」をテーマに開催されました。参加者は浴衣や甚平、ショートパンツなど、思い思いの夏の装いで集い、会場はカラフルな旗や提灯で飾られ、まるで夏祭りのような賑やかな雰囲気となりました。👘🏮
甚平姿で優雅に登場した会長のTM K.は、奥様の看病を通して家事をこなしているというエピソードを披露。何事も前向きに捉える姿勢が印象的でした。✨
今回のTMOD（司会者）は、元気いっぱいのTM P.が担当。インド風のカジュアル着物姿で、夏祭りらしい華やかな会場を演出してくれました。今日の言葉は、TM H.が選んだ「Capture the Moment（その瞬間を捉える）」。スピーチや論評など、多くのメンバーがこの言葉を巧みに活用しました。🗣️
小役割担当者も例会を支えてくれました。TM S.は投票集計、TM Y.は計時、TM H.は良い表現のチェック、TM O.はフィラーのカウントを担当し、簡潔かつ正確な報告で会の進行をスムーズにしました。⏱️
テーブルトピックスセッション
元会長のTM K.が進行役を務め、テーマは「企業スローガン」。4名のスピーカーが、それぞれのスローガンから発想を広げて即興スピーチに挑戦しました。💡

TM O.: 即興スピーチ2本に挑戦。災害時の避難所での心構えと、プレゼン中のPCトラブルで時間を稼ぐ話を披露しました。
TM N.: アイスブレーカー（初スピーチ）で、大好きな読売ジャイアンツと3匹の愛猫について語りました。🐈⬛
TM S.: 90歳を超えるお母様との会話を通して、声の抑揚のつけ方を工夫するスピーチに挑戦しました。
TM T.: クイズの準備を通して経験したメンタリングについて語りました。
TM M.: メキシコ文化について紹介し、伝統や食の魅力を伝えました。🇲🇽
論評セッション
クラブ創設者であるTM I.が総合司会を務め、経験豊かなメンバーが各スピーチに丁寧なフィードバックを送りました。📝
TM K.: TM O.の2つのスピーチのつながりを評価。
TM T.: TM N.のデビューを称賛。
TM E.: TM S.の声の抑揚に、さらなる強弱をつけることを提案。
TM P.: TM T.の構成力を評価し、ノートなしのスピーチを推奨。
TM S.: TM M.のスピーチについて、文化的な背景は分からなかったとしつつも、正直な感想と勇気ある姿勢を評価しました。
最後にTM I.が、役割担当者全員に感謝の言葉を贈り、例会を締めくくりました。
