第508回例会報告（2025年8月23日）

今回の例会は、新しい仲間を迎える入会式からスタートしました。 T.さんがご夫婦で武蔵小杉トーストマスターズクラブに加わりました。🎉 お二人ともすでにお二人とも既にお話上手に思えます、今後のご活躍がさらに楽しみです。🎤

入会式の後は、会計のTM Y.より今期の予算案が提出され、会費値上げも含めて可決されました。💰

今日の言葉はTM S.が担当した「地味にすごい（じみすご）」。💡 多くのメンバーがこの言葉を巧みに使いこなし、「じみすご」な出来事が身の回りにたくさんあることを気づかせてくれました。😊

例会レポート

今回のTMOD（司会者）はTM I.が初めて務めました。時間を考慮し、テーブルトピックスの持ち時間を短縮するなど、臨機応変な運営で円滑な進行を見せてくれました。⏱️ 初めてとは思えない見事な仕切りでした。👏

テーブルトピックスのお題は、TM P.が担当した「自分以外のムサコメンバーの紹介」。誰のことを話しているかは伏せたまま話し、スピーチ後に正解を明かすというユニークな形式でした。🗣️

TM S.: 厳しい人、この方のおかげで時間管理が身についた、と紹介。正解はTM O.でした。

TM K.: ママチャリで活動的な尊敬する人、と紹介。正解はTM H.でした。🚴‍♀️

TM E.: ムサコへの深い愛を語るメンバーへの思いを語りました。正解はTM I.で、内容の繊細さから正解を当てるのは難しかったようです。💖

この面白いお題に、論評を担当したTM J.も絶賛。時間が短いからこそ、スピーカーの本音が出たように感じられました。😄

準備スピーチ

個性豊かなスピーチが続きました。📖

TM B.: 「66歳 高身長不利説の台頭」。若い頃に憧れた身長194cmにならなかったのは神の思し召しだと、ユーモアを交えて語りました。📏

TM H.: 「おひさしぶり」。京都時代の友人と久しぶりに連絡したエピソードから、誰かを待っている人がいるかもしれないという心温まるメッセージを伝えました。💌

TM S.: 「奈良のススメ」。最近帰省した際に手にした日帰り旅行本から、奈良駅周辺の観光ルートを紹介。身近な視点から奈良の魅力を伝えてくれました。🦌

TM F.: 「Wisdom teeth」。親知らずを抜くことに疑問を持ち、将来の移植の可能性や歯磨きスキルの向上など、多角的なメリットを挙げ、見事ベストスピーカーに選ばれました。🦷✨

TM S.: 「世代間ギャップ」。ご両親との価値観の違いから、上の世代の思いを深く考えるきっかけになったことを率直に話しました。👨‍👩‍👧‍👦

論評セッション

ベテランメンバー5名が、的確なフィードバックを行いました。📝

TM Y.： TM B.のスピーチを「スタイルを伝えるスピーチ」と表現し、クロージングの改善点を提案。

TM I.： TM H.のスピーチを「じみすご」ならぬ「まじすご」と称賛。🤩 より個人的な思い出を追加することを提案しました。

TM Y.： TM S.の楽しいテーマを評価しつつ、本の紹介に終始した点を指摘。落ち着いた分析でベスト論評賞を獲得しました。🏆

TM M.： TM F.の言葉の選択を評価。親知らずから得た忍耐力について、さらに深く聞きたかったとコメントしました。

TM I.： TM S.の対話形式と率直な内容を評価し、改善点はないと率直な論評を行いました。👍

Musashikosugi Toastmasters Club Meeting Report: #508 (August 23, 2025)

Our meeting kicked off with a welcome ceremony for new members. Mr T　and his wife joined the Musashikosugi Toastmasters Club. 🎉 They already seem to be great speakers, and we look forward to their future contributions! 🎤

Following the induction, the club’s treasurer, TM Y., presented the budget for the new term, and a motion to increase membership fees was passed. 💰

The Word of the Day, chosen by TM S., was “Jimisugo” (地味にすごい), a Japanese phrase that means “low-key amazing.” 💡 Many members used it skillfully, making us realize just how many “jimisugo” things happen around us. 😊

Meeting Report

This was TM I.'s first time serving as the Toastmaster of the Day (TMOD). He managed the meeting with great flexibility, even shortening the time for Table Topics to keep things running smoothly. ⏱️ His performance was so impressive it was hard to believe it was his first time. 👏

The Table Topics session, led by TM P., had a unique format: "Introduce another Musashikosugi member without revealing their name." The name was only revealed after the speech. 🗣️

TM S. introduced someone as a strict person who helped him develop better time management skills. The answer was TM O.

TM K. introduced a respected person who is active on her "mamachari" (a type of utility bicycle). The answer was TM H. 🚴‍♀️

TM E. spoke about a member who talks about their deep love for Musako. The answer was TM I. It was a difficult one to guess due to the sensitive nature of the topic. 💖

TM J., who evaluated the Table Topics session, highly praised the unique theme. The shorter time limit seemed to bring out the speakers' genuine thoughts and feelings. 😄

Prepared Speeches

The prepared speeches were full of personality and unique perspectives. 📖

TM B.: In "66 Years Old: The Rise of the Disadvantages of Being Tall," he humorously explained that not reaching his desired height of 194cm was a blessing, saving him from cramped seats and low doorways. 📏

TM H.: "Long Time No See" was a heartwarming speech about reconnecting with a friend from her time living in Kyoto. She reminded us that someone might be waiting for our call or letter. 💌

TM S.: In "Nara's Recommendation," he talked about a recent trip back home to Nara and a guidebook he found that recommends a day trip by bus. He shared the city's charm from a local perspective. 🦌

TM F.: "Wisdom Teeth" challenged the common practice of wisdom tooth removal. He listed many benefits, like potential future transplants and improved dental hygiene skills, earning him the Best Speaker Award. 🦷✨

TM S.: In "Generational Gaps," he shared his thoughts on the differing values between himself and his parents, concluding that his parents may have understood him better than he thought. 👨‍👩‍👧‍👦

Evaluation Session

Five veteran members provided excellent feedback. 📝

TM Y. described TM B.'s speech as an expression of his style and suggested ways to improve the closing.

TM I. praised TM H.'s speech as "Majisugo" (truly amazing), not just "jimisugo," and suggested adding more personal memories. 🤩

TM Y. evaluated TM S.'s speech. She appreciated the fun topic but pointed out that it focused too much on the book itself. Her calm and insightful analysis earned her the Best Evaluator Award. 🏆

TM M. praised TM F.'s word choice and said he wanted to know more about the patience she gained from her wisdom teeth.

TM I. commended TM S.'s conversational style and honest content, saying there were no improvements to suggest. 👍
